Holiday Style :: Party Skirt

Are you sensing a theme with this months outfits? This is my second holiday look and I've got a third coming next week.  When it comes to dressing in my daily life, skirts and dresses are kept typically for formal events. I'm not really a skirt kinda gal.  However, that doesn't stop me from buying ones that I fall in love with when I see them. Case in point: this metallic flare skirt.

I was immediately drawn to it because of it's fullness & metallic sheen. To avoid looking like a lady of the night due to it's super mini-length, I opted to tone everything down with opaque black tights & a long-sleeve cashmere sweater.  I love the metallic sheen so much that I knew accessories with matching silver details would pull the look together.

As I said in my previous look, holiday dressing is an excuse to have fun & wear some of those flashy items. As much as I prefer pants (jeans to be exact), I can't deny that wearing this skirt really made me feel feminine and pretty. And I think every gal should feel that way every once in awhile.
