As I've gotten older I've started seeing the need or maybe the want for multiple coats in my wardrobe. Oftentimes mine never come off because I'm always so cold so they basically are the outfit. As each winter passes I start realizing that not only do the coats I buy need to be fashionably they need to be functional. You know like keeping you warm. If a cute coat doesn't keep you warm then why even bother wearing it, right?!

I got this navy peacoat about 3 years ago from the Gap and it's been my daily go-to. The length is perfect, it's warm, and it has ample pockets. Also, the coat itself isn't so heavy. I've tried on winter wool coats that feel like they weigh about 10 pounds. I certainly don't need to be carrying that around when I out and about.

Now I've got three good winter coats: this navy peacoat, a wool wrap coat that's a bit dresser for going out, and my blizzard-ready parka. I definitely want to add a few more and now is a good time to start looking for them. Spring clothing items are starting to hit the shelves, which means winter items will start to go on sale. I definitely think I need add a olive green wool coat to my closet.

How about you? What's your coat wardrobe look like?
