On The Line | No. 34

Happy Friday friends! How's your week going? It's been a bit busy for me but in a good way. Not sure if you saw my last Instagram post but in any case, I did an interview with Forbes and it was published online this week (you can read it here: bit.ly/forbes_interview ). So that's pretty exciting and crazy. If you checked it out, I would love to hear what you thought about it. In more basic news, tomorrow is supposed to be around 70 degrees here, this morning it was 30 degrees. I think Spring might be slowly creeping it's way in and I can't wait. Who doesn't love Spring weather?! What are your plans for the weekend?

Trade Your Expectation for Appreciation. How many times have you thought about how you expect a scenario, an event, an interaction, or a day will play out? Only then for it to not go as planned and then you are, to put dramatically, devastated. Hashtag Guilty. [insert girl raising her hand emoji] I do this all the time. Not just with events but with people. How many of you set an internal expectation about the people in your life especially your loved ones? Unrealistic expectations that sometimes come across as demands. We all do it. I think it's the nature of how our minds work. I've done to the point where I've let it ruin my mood or a night because it didn't go as I had expected/thought it would based on the "play" I had in my head. Or I expected something of someone and they didn't deliver whether it be emotionally, physically, or something tangible. It's a total bummer and life suck. However, what we have to remember is not look at what failed. Look at something that was positive with that situation or person. We all have gratitude within us. It's there but sometimes it's just covered up by the our negative thoughts. Sometimes you have you take a minute to stop and think about what actions you took to get you to that event, scenario, or meeting. Those actions are to be appreciated. You have to think about the expectation you put on someone. Was it realistic, demanding, or attainable? We sometimes ask for so much from the people in our lives. Always wanting more without appreciating what they currently give or have given. While the situation or person may not have delivered, doesn't mean that it was a failure. It's about not focusing on the negative and appreciating the small things. You've got to celebrate what you have, what you did, and how far you've come.

  • { Beauty } I'm trying to move to more green & natural beauty products but some of my favs aren't there yet. So in the meantime, I'm always looking out for these 5 ingredients to avoid.
     
  • { Shooting } If you've followed my Girl Meets Gun journey then you know the HKVP9 & me was a match made in handgun heaven. Well, Heckler & Koch teased last week about an upcoming new release...the HKVP9SK. I'm so looking forward to testing this out as it might be a great option for a new concealed carry pistol.

  • { Mind, Body, Soul } Have you tried or even heard of a Golden Milk Latte? It's amazing to say the least. It gives you that warm and cozy coffee taste without the coffee. This might start being a weekend treat. I love it because it has turmeric and ginger. Both are so so good for your gut and inflammation. This GML is a great alternative if you are trying to kick your coffee habit (why?!) or not a coffee drinker.
