A Little Americana

Sometimes it’s all about the shoes, am I right?! Okay let’s be honest, it’s always all about the shoes ;) I wore this outfit a couple weekends ago when Amy of Alexo Athletica and my co-host on the Not Your Average Gun Girls podcast were in Chicago for Amm-Con. It’s a second amendment media conference that brought different people in the second amendment media industry together to share our perspective, tips, and advice on how to get your 2A voice heard in the digital world. It was an all around great weekend but also a great event. I can tell you that when we first talked about the podcast over a year ago we never thought that anyone would ask us to share our thoughts and lessons-learned in this field. We still feel that we have a lot to learn.

I figured that breaking out my patriotic heels at a Second Amendment focused conference would only be fitting. I really wanted the shoes to speak for themselves so I kept everything really minimal in terms of color palette. I don’t really follow or think much about the white after Labor Day “rule". Just wear what you like and what makes you feel good. I typically try to stay away from white jackets/blazers for the mere fear of getting them insanely dirty. Surprisingly though I didn’t spill any of my many cups of coffee on it nor did I find any random lipstick or makeup marks on it. My shirt on the other hand had a few stains to remind me of the delicious Chicago deep dish pizza we scarfed down from Peqouds. However, I ditched the blazer for a sweater and heels for ankle boots to hit the town.
