All About The Details

I am a big fan of the details. The small details are what sets things apart - not just with clothing but with anything we do in life. Since my clothing always tends to gravitate towards black, the pieces can start to look a bit redundant especially if they don't have a differentiating detail. However, even if they don't it doesn't stop me from adding more black t-shirts to my closet ;) All of the pieces here have a unique detail that sets it apart from the other items in my closet that are similar. The bow sleeve sweater easily makes this look more feminine. If that's what you are going for then look for items with ruffles, lace, or bows adorned either on the sleeve, hem or neckline. The round grommets on the vest really catch your attention but also add a bit of edge. Same with the side buckles on my boots. Anything with studs, grommets, buckles, leather, distressing, or other metal details will be a great option for giving an edgier look to your outfit.

If you're like me and in need to change things up in your wardrobe but don't necessarily stray from what you love, keep your eyes open for items with unique details. While it may seem that some of these items are more on trend versus classic they will give your wardrobe a bit of new life. And who's closet doesn't need that every once-in-awhile.
