Statement Stripes

I always feel a little self-conscious when I wear black and white stripes in something other than a t-shirt. A few things come to mind…jailbird, referee, and Beetlejuice. Maybe that only seems fitting since Halloween was yesterday but I know with this blazer I’ve got some options for next year. LOL. But seriously though, black and white stripes are so chic especially in this blazer. I love how it stands out against black; it really becomes the statement piece of the look. The satin-esque material makes it look luxe and I can easily see this being worn over a fitted dress for an evening out. And you could totally dress it down with a pair of jeans.

A real quick note about my shoes…these Christian Louboutin’s are the original Pigalle style from about seven or so years ago. They have since made new iterations of this style with some slight tweaks. From what I’ve read, the newer version (linked below) is more comfortable but I use that term loosely because, after all, they are Louboutins; not exactly made with comfort in mind. They are a cab to curb heel all the way.
