And just like that another page has turned and we have arrived in 2018. How were all of your holiday celebrations? Did you guys travel anywhere? Mine was great - there was plenty of relaxing mixed in with bursts of productivity. I easily could've taken a little longer of a break but it's time to get back to the grind. I also took this time to disconnect from social media, which I think is so important. We all seem to be so wrapped up in our phones favoring digital connections in lieu of face-to-face interaction. Giving technology a break offers an opportunity to experience other parts of life that you might be missing or more importantly you might be neglecting. Instead of picking up my phone, I picked up a book and it felt good. I usually don't make reading a priority due to time but it's something I'd like to do more of this year.
I'm not a resolution maker but that doesn't mean I don't love the beginning of a new year. I love the feeling and the fresh start a new year brings. I love planning out goals for the year ahead personally and professionally. My motto going into 2018 (and I'm totally stealing this from Dynamis Alliance) is Crush Everything. It's such a simple set of two words but put together, for me, they embody a mindset that I want to take into all of the things I do this year. I think it's good to have a few inspirational words that you can write on post-its, notebooks, or wherever so that you can be reminded of how you want to pursue your intentions. You can use it as a mantra to remind yourself of your goals or mission.
Do you have a mantra for 2018?
Also, I want to thank those of you that took the time out of your holiday gatherings to take the survey. The feedback is invaluable to me and has been a great validation for the plans for SMT this year. It's great to read this information from you specifically about what you love, what you'd like to see more, and your thoughts on the different categories offered.
There is still time to take the survey if you haven't already. I would greatly appreciate your time and honest feedback. You can take the survey below or by clicking here.
