Weekend Style

On the weekends my outfits tend to reach two extremes. I either dress like I could be homeless or I'm dressed up. So I try to find a happy medium for the daytime that mixes comfort and style while leaving the heels and over-sized grandpa sweaters at home. That's where having a go-to relaxed blazer and cute shoes are key. It's a bit shameful how many times I've worn this exact t-shirt and jeans combo - it's pretty casual and typically it sits on the top of my laundry pile.  When I need to run out for a quick errand I throw it on. So since it was freshly washed I figured I'd take this combo out for something other than a trip to good o'l Target.

I opted to add my favorite boyfriend style blazer. If you don't have one I suggest adding one to your closet.  It's a great layering piece and perfect for making a basic look more polished. Case in point, this outfit. This blazer is over five years old and I plan on wearing it until the threads start coming apart. I knew that the husband and I would be out and about enjoying the weekend weather so wearing comfortable shoes were a given. I've really been loving slip-on sneakers lately; they are kind of like the athletic version of sandals. Just a quick slip on the foot and you're out the door. Perfect for a lot of walking but also stylish.
