One of the constants in my shoe closet are black ankle boots. This season, I felt like I wanted to buy every pair I saw as their were so many cute options. I was able to maintain some form of self-control only because I was eyeing and waiting for these Alexander Wang boots to go on-sale. Once they did, I made them mine.

I have a decent assortment of black boots with my Modern Vice Jetts & Handlers being my trusty go-to's. However, it's always good to have some variety in this area. For me adding a block heel to the arsenal had been on my list for awhile.

Let me tell you ladies, don't underestimate the power of pair of quality black leather ankle boots. These feel like butter. The leather quality is amazing, they fit like a glove, the heel height is perfect, and the ankle shaft isn't too short nor too tall. Oh and let's not forget the heel cutout inset with the rose goldtone metal plate (#amazing).

I equate a black ankle boot to a black blazer...a workhorse in your closet that should never be overlooked. A pair of ankle boots can dress down a dress/skirt or dress up a pair distressed jeans.

Personally, it's a wardrobe essential that you shouldn't skimp on. You don't need to go and spend a month's rent on a pair but you do want to ensure that you are getting a pair that is of high quality leather and craftmanship. Then make sure you take care of them and they will last you for years.
