It's finally here and early access to The Mothership's yearly anniversary sale has begun. I've been prepping for the sale with my #NSale Shopping Tips and was finally able to make it out to a store. It's been a long time since I've actually shopped in a physical Nordstrom store. I'm usually all about the online shopping. However, for the #NSale I like going to really see what's available, touch and feel the items, and get some ideas of sizing. In my my honest opinion of what I've seen online and in-store is that the sale is just okay. I definitely think last years sale was much better. Don't get me wrong, there are definitely some great finds and the prices are really good but there weren't a lot of things that had me thinking, "I have to have that." That's not a bad thing though.
If you've shopped the sale year-after-year you'll notice that a lot of the items are repeats or a very similar version to what they offered the previous year but just updated or tweaked to make it fresh. I have no problem with this because those items are the classics and there have been times in the past that I've missed out on something but now I have an opportunity to grab it.
Also, don't forget the sale isn't just for women. There are plenty amazing finds for the mister and the kids. Since it's currently early access, you have to have a Nordstrom credit or debit card to shop. This means you won't be able to purchase from the links below at the price mentioned unless you have a credit or debit card. However, that shouldn't stop you from looking, right?!
After perusing the sale online and in-store I have definitely found my favorites when it comes to jeans, coats, and shoes, which are detailed below. I'm hoping my online order arrives today so I can sift through and decide what I'm actually keeping and see how things fit so I can get you an update on what I bought and sizing tips. A little hint on what I bought...many of those items are listed below. You can also see some other items that I think are worth checking out here.
Just a note that the prices listed below are the anniversary sale price. There are some good deals.
Jeans are always my first stop along the #NSale trail. I love my jeans, I know you know that so being able to score premium denim on sale is always a win for me. This years offerings did not disappoint. No matter your style they had something for you from non-distressed to boyfriend, and to ankle. It's a good mix at all good price points.
Coats, Jackets, & Blazers
As much as I really try to step out of my style it's hard when there is so much good stuff that screams my name. The #NSale is not holding back this year when it comes to their coats, jackets, and blazers. I know I said that I thought the sale was just okay and it is except here. I want all the ones below. There are a few from below that I love but didn't buy but want to point them out to you.
The Caslon Asymmetrical Jacket (top row, third item) - I have an older #NSale version of this and this one is basically the same thing. It's my favorite for traveling. It's light weight but still warm enough for those chilly plane or train rides.
Lastly, the Avec Les Filles jacket (last row, fourth item) is a great dupe to The Arrivals Moya jacket (my fav leather jacket brand) that retails for $1095 and the Acne Studios shearling jacket that costs $2700. I tried it on and it's pretty comfy and I'm trying hard not to give in the temptation.
I would say that the shoe selection for this #NSale is meh and honestly that's probably a good thing. But I can't help to love the cooler months for the specific reason of cute ankle boots. There are definitely lots of ankle boots to choose from this season but only the ones below really caught my eye. I'm also really loving the mule/slide trend - they are so easy to wear.
I want to know if you guys are hitting the #NSale and what you end up getting. If you stumbled upon something that you think I'll love, let me know. Also, are these posts helpful to you?
