Ever since I got my hands on, or should I say, legs into my first pair of premium denim (over 10 years ago) I was hooked. My first pair were from 7 for All Mankind and they were their boot cut style. They fit me like a glove, were comfy, and they made me feel amazing every time I put them on. How could I not have been hooked, right?! They were the first premium denim brand I fell for and it was down hill from there. Over the years premium denim brands have come and gone and along with that the prices have gotten freakin' insane. Back then I could get a pair of 7FAM jeans on sale for around $80. Unreal right?! Nowadays it's almost impossible to get premium denim at that price unless you are scouring piles of sale racks and even then it's hit or miss.

I definitely always wait for sales to buy premium denim. The key is knowing the brand, style, and size you want so you can pounce as soon as you see that price drop. It's my strategy for all things designer and it works, you just need to be patient. My beloved brand Rag and Bone and recently loved brand Frame have some pairs that retail around $300, which is absolutely absurd. I refuse to pay more than $150 for jeans. So I'm always checking to see if they are on sale.

So while premium denim is a weakness of mine, I am always on the lookout for jeans that are of high quality, fit, and at a more reasonable price point. I've had some luck with Gap jeans. I have a couple pairs that I like but recently when I've gone to try on some newer styles something is off. So they haven't really been on my list lately.

Another brand that I've always liked is BlankNYC. I own a few of their jackets (worn here, here, and here). And it wasn't until last year that I bought my first pair of BlankNYC jeans (also worn here) and after a few wears I was sold.

Their jeans are super soft, the quality is great, and once you get your sizing down, they fit like a glove. The best part?! They retail for under $100 but on sale you can score them for around $60. Kind of amazing, right?! You basically get premium denim without the premium price tag. #WinWin I scored this dark wash pair recently as part of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I actually bought a pair of AG Jeans but ended up returning them and ordered these instead. These are a high waist style which I wasn't sure I was going to like but these aren't crazy high waisted so it's not uncomfortable. This dark wash is beautiful, they are insanely soft and comfortable. As with my other Blank NYC jeans, I had to size down. I would recommend doing the same. They have a bit of a stretch and when sizing down they fit perfectly skinny without cutting off your circulation.

Do you have any denim brands you love that I should check out?

Update: I just checked and unfortunately The Mothership is really limited on sizes. They were fully stocked last night but keep checking their site if you want them. The sale doesn't end until Sunday night so you've got some time. Another option is to go to your local Nordstrom and have one of the sales associates check the in-store inventory for all of their stores. A lot of times they can find your size. And if all else fails, just be patient. I know these will go on sale again - my others did multiple times.
