Even as the summer heat begins I still tend to find myself cold. Nothing like the middle of winter cold (thank gosh) but with just a slight chill. I blame it on all the establishments that are cranking their A/C units, my house included. The A/C on top of sweating from the heat is a bad mix.
So I typically like to bring a light sweater or wrap. However, as of lately I've been grabbing my lightweight camo shirt jacket. I can easily throw it in my tote bag or tie it around my waist if I don't want to wear it but it's a nice option for when I go someplace and I get a little chilly. I find that sometimes a sweater or wrap can be a bit formal depending on your style. The shirt jacket will pair well with jeans, shorts, and even summer day dresses.
The shirt jacket is a great layering piece and accent to your look. You also don't need to look for one that is a jacket style per se. You can easily accomplish the look and get the same benefits from a button down shirt. Sometimes the jacket style tops are bit heavier in weight and may not be ideal for summer. So be sure to look for ones that come in lightweight fabrics and are breathable for the summer.
