We are halfway through December and a little over two weeks away from 2017. Time just seems to be flying by and I wish the weather would do the same. That bitter cold has officially creeped it's way into DC, which means I'm going to be living in layers and sweaters.

During the winter months, I tend to be pretty lazy with my outfits. Always gravitating to the same warm sweaters and scarfs because I really can't stand to be cold. You can easily find me wearing the same sweater all weekend long.

So in order to break up the laziness of my clothing choices, I always try to up the boring factor with accessories. I mean, that's really the best part of any outfit in my opinion. Don't you agree? Opting for a simple black ankle boot, a textured satchel, patterned scarf, and coordinating jewels makes an otherwise plain grey sweater & jeans date night ready.

When it comes to jewelry, I usually don't mind mixing my metals. However, this time I wanted to bring out the rose gold elements on the face of this JORD Wood Watch. Doesn't the rose gold look gorgeous against the sandalwood band? Since the watch itself is minimal & modern in it's design, I didn't want to weigh down the richness of the wood band with tons of bracelets. I chose one of my rose gold bracelets to complement the watch but also not take away from it's beauty.

What's your favorite way to dress up a simple outfit?
