Postcards from Cancun

The husband and his family have been going to Cancun since he was in high school. As he and his brothers got older and started families, Cancun has become sort of a family meeting place.  His parents go for three weeks every year and who ever in the family can make it during that time is more than welcome to join. The husband and I have been going since before we were married and have gone enough times now that it feels so familiar and like a second home.  As much as we would love to go every year, we don't always have the time so when we do it's always such a great time.

One of things we love about going to Cancun is that for us it's a true vacation meaning all we do is relax. There are no itineraries & no things we must do. The biggest decisions of our days involve what are we having for happy hour and where are we going to dinner. Tough life right?!  It's a chance to calm the mind, rest the body, and just spend time together. Our days usually involve mornings watching the sunrise, naps under our palapa, walks on the beach, lots of reading, and swapping dips in the ocean for dips in the pool. It a great break from the daily grind.

Vacation wouldn't be complete without some frozen drinks, bubbly, cervezas, and tasty cocktails preferably beach side but I'll take them any way I can get them.  It's the perfect way to close out a day at the beach and get ready for dinner. Speaking of dinner, I've listed a couple of notable places that we like going to in Cancun:.

Navios Ikat-Ik (Go when they have the Mayan show) / Sasi Thai (don't miss the Lychee Martini it's frozen & it's delicious) / Julia Mia / Fred's Seafood Restaurant (their grilled lobster is amaze)
