Just a Small Girl in a Big World

I am a very petite woman of 5'2" and that coupled with the fact that I also look about 10 years younger than I actually am has made my personal safety loom large in my mind over the last several years (doesn't help that I am a HUGE true crime buff lol).
I grew up in a conservative home that always supported the 2A. My mom is a sharpshooting Texas gal and she has owned a six shooter named Bessie for as long as I can remember. However, I never shot anything but air-soft and BB guns until I married my mountain-grown husband Tyson. Being the protective man that he is, Ty started me on gun safety and began making plans for me to be able to conceal carry from the minute we were married (he took me shooting on our honeymoon ).
He taught me to shoot using a Glock 19 and 17 (I have small hands so it's not super comfortable using larger guns). We were able to purchase my very own Glock 43 for my birthday this year and it is the perfect size for me! I really enjoy shooting and I love the security of having a gun close by when I'm at home alone or out in public. My secondary goal in terms of self defense is to learn Krav Maga.
I hope that being part of this community I will engage in mutual growth and encouragement with like-minded women.
