How to Reduce Printing with a Concealment Claw
When you start down the path of concealed carry there are so many things to consider and one of those things that might not be so obvious is an additional “accessory” you can add to your holster. That accessory is a concealment claw. A lot of people aren’t aware of what a concealment claw is or that it even exists; I definitely wasn’t when I started on this path. Often times, it is referred to as a concealment wing. The purpose of the claw/wing, whatever you want to call it, is to push the grip of your gun back towards your body.
The claw is a holster accessory that attaches to the holster next to the trigger guard. The claw pushes against the waistband of your pants to push the grip of the gun closer to your body. The concealment claw doesn’t get in the way or impede your draw at all. You don’t even notice it when carrying.
Most holster manufacturers offer their own version of a concealment claw/wing for their holsters. I love my Blacksmith Tactical holsters with the UltiClip and concealment claw. I don’t get one without it now. Adding a concealment claw to my holster setup has been a game changer for me when carrying. You can easily see from the photos below how much the concealment claw reduces the gap between your grip and your body. This helps to reduce printing and allows you to continue to carry without sacrificing your style.
